Who We Are
At Reed Supplies Canada, we’re musicians first. As a Canadian business, we know the realities of sourcing quality reed making supplies and the challenges that come with the craft.
That’s why we’ve built more than just a shop. We’re creating a place where oboe and bassoon players can find the right tools, learn how to use them, and feel supported every step of the way. Get to know the people behind it all.

Brittany McCorriston
(she/her)
Founder
Brittany McCorriston was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She began piano lessons at the age of 5 and playing wind instruments in middle school. Brittany started studying oboe in 2010 and studied with Vickey Hathaway. After high school, Brittany stepped away from music and decided to study Outdoor Adventure Education. After a significant injury causing departure from the program, Brittany used music to aid in her recovery. It was then that she began playing bassoon. Following her passion for music technology, classical, and contemporary music, Brittany studied at Berklee College of music in Boston, MA, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production and a minor in Instrument Repair.
Brittany performs regularly on bassoon and oboe in Canada and the USA with various community ensembles. While in school, she was part of the Large Ensemble Program at Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she was the principal bassoon in Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra, as well as second bassoon in Boston Conservatory’s Orchestra. Brittany also played oboe in the Scoring Session Program at Berklee, and participated in regular recording sessions for various film and video-game music projects. In Fall 2019, Brittany was a double reed specialist at the York Music Camp in Orillia, Ontario.
Brittany is passionate about instrument repair and reed making. She has a minor in instrument repair and spends much of her free time in the repair shop working on her own projects. She also worked for the piano maintenance department at Berklee as a Piano Maintenance Assistant and now takes on private clients for piano tuning and repair. Brittany regularly attends reed-making workshops and is fascinated by the little things that go wrong or right when adjusting reeds. Brittany believes that reed-making is a journey and loves to discuss with other double-reed players about what has made their journey unique.
In her spare time, Brittany loves spending time outdoors and you will find her camping or competing in the dog show ring with her German Shepherd, Dax.

Amelia Walker (Them/She)
Community Outreach Coordinator
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Amelia Walker started taking bassoon lessons with Christopher Sales at 14 years old. They went on to study with Stephen Franse and then Julia Lockhart and Sophie Dansereau while studying at the University of British Columbia. Amelia received their Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance in 2025 and now resides between Calgary, Alberta and Clinton, Ontario. Passionate about learning, Amelia has performed in masterclasses for Andrew Brady, Christopher Millard, and Glenn Einschlag. In addition, Amelia has been invited to participate in classical music festivals such as Domaine Forget.
Outside of performing, Amelia is passionate about advocating and promoting works by Canadian Women. Specifically, she is interested in composers Barbara Pentland, Violet Archer, and Jean Coulthard and how they have impacted Canada's classical music landscape.
When not practising (or making reeds), Amelia keeps busy by doing a variety of crafts and non-music-related hobbies. Some of these include reading, knitting, and collaging.
Anna Betuzzi (She/Her)
Community Outreach Coordinator
Anna is a freelance oboist currently based in Montreal. She spent the 2024-25 season as 2nd Oboe and English Horn of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and the 2022-23 season as Principal Oboe of the Victoria Symphony. She has performed as a substitute musician with top ensembles in Canada, including l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. In addition to performing, she enjoys teaching oboe, English horn, reed making, piano, and recorder.
One of the things she enjoys about working with RSC is the opportunity to create the very resources that she would have benefited from as a young oboist growing up in the small Canadian town of 108 Mile Ranch in British Columbia. Outside of music, she enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her two black cats.
George Ridout
(he/him)
Marketing
George is a freelance marketing consultant with a passion for helping businesses thrive in the digital landscape. Based in London, Ontario, he studied at Western University and Fanshawe College. Having worked his way from Marketing Intern to Director of Marketing at digital marketing agencies across Ontario, George went on his own to choose the clients he loves working with most.
Specializing in UI/UX, email marketing and automation, digital advertising, and data, these glasses aren’t just for show. He’s a nerd.
While not a double reed player, George tinkers with guitar, paints miniatures, and is a union actor as well, so he’s no stranger to the type of passion the community at RSC has for their craft, and he’s proud to support the musicians at the heart of it all.
